The CEO behind the popular new crunchy puffed snack World Peas Peatos, Nick Desai, will be presenting at The Reg A Fundraising Conference in New York. Taking place on June 12th, the first time event is a forum for both networking and sharing practices on alternative financing vehicles such as Regulation A, with Desai leading a discussion on crowd funding.
In 2015 Regulation A was passed giving smaller companies an exemption from SEC registration requirements when seeking to raise equity capital through a public offering. The conference offers a slate of experts who handle securities offerings and executives who’ve taken their companies through the fund raising process. Participants include legal experts, accountants, and investment bankers who have the backgrounds sought by prospective issuers.
For Desai it is an opportunity to share best practices with investors, describing the elements that led to such rapid brand success since their product introduction earlier this year. “Everything about Peatos is different, from how we taste, to our nutritional profile, our go-to-market strategy, our branding, and how quickly we have launched with some of the biggest retailers in the country,” said Desai. “We offer critical elements vital to consumers, such as comforting taste and texture, better nutritional characteristics, and cleaner ingredients.”
Peatos’ distribution gains includes completely selling out on Amazon, according to the press statement. The company’s goal is to disrupt and revolutionize the $28 billion junk snack industry by replacing traditional junk foods such as empty-calorie potato or corn food snacks with nutrient-dense pulses containing fiber and plant-based protein.
